Paid App - Show and Review

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share an iOS game I’ve been working on called BLIND 5.

BLIND 5 is a blind ranking game where players must place items into a ranking without knowing what’s coming next. Once you lock a choice into a slot, it can’t be changed.

The idea came from noticing that debates — especially sports debates — usually stall unless there are real constraints. BLIND 5 forces fast decisions under uncertainty, which often leads to regret, surprises, and heated discussions once the full list is revealed.

How it works: • You’re given a category (sports, pop culture, etc.) • Items are revealed one at a time • Each item must be placed into a ranking slot immediately • Locked choices cannot be undone

By the end, players are left reacting to how their final ranking turned out.

Key features: • Blind ranking mechanic (no previews) • Randomized categories and items • No undo once a slot is filled • Designed for short, replayable sessions

Pricing: • $0.99 one-time purchase • No subscriptions • No ads

I’m continuing to refine the experience and wanted to share BLIND 5 with the community. Thanks for checking it out.

I’m opening early access to a new buy & sell marketplace and looking for beta testers

Hi everyone,

A while back, I decided to start building a buy & sell marketplace after hearing the same frustrations over and over from sellers and small businesses.

A lot of people I’ve spoken to feel like their listings barely get seen, visibility can be limited, and seller support often isn’t what they hoped for. I’m not here to bash any existing platforms — just trying to understand what could be done better.

We’re now opening early access and I’m looking for a small group of beta testers to help shape the app before public launch.

Beta testers would be helping with:

•	Testing listings, browsing, and overall flow

•	Giving feedback on visibility and user experience

•	Sharing what actually matters to buyers and sellers

If this sounds interesting, you can sign up to join the beta here:

Happy to answer any questions or hear feedback — even if you’re just curious.

Thanks!

Question

Hello,

I'm looking for information/experiences regarding AutoSleep and Apple Health, especially since the latest versions of iOS/watchOS.

I've noticed that:

– in AutoSleep Sleep Analysis mode, naps appear correctly in Apple Health.

– but in Apple Sleep Stages mode, they disappear completely from Health, even though AutoSleep detects them correctly.

However, this behavior seemed different just a few months ago.

Have other users noticed the same thing?

Do you know when Apple started filtering naps this way, or if it's a permanent change to the sleep framework?

Thanks in advance for your feedback 🙏

Hey everyone 👋

I’m the dev behind CalmPets, an iPhone app with calming music and soundscapes made specifically for dogs and cats. It helps pets relax, sleep better, and stay calm during stressful moments.

* For the next 24 hours, I’ve made the Premium Lifetime upgrade 100% FREE (no subscription, just unlock it once and keep it forever)

What CalmPets does:

* Soothing soundscapes tailored for both dogs and cats

* Great for naps, bedtime, or when you’re away from home

* Helps with separation anxiety, storms, fireworks, and loud environments

* Simple, distraction-free interface — start calming audio in a couple of taps

* Runs in the background while you do other things

Why some people might like it:

* Perfect for nervous or rescue pets that need help settling in

* Nice way to create a calm evening or bedtime routine with your pet

* No account, no login, and the app doesn’t collect any data

App Store Link: 👉 https://apps.apple.com/app/id6755193261

How to claim:

  1. Download and open the app

  2. On the paywall screen, tap “Show More” at the bottom.

  3. Tap the Lifetime option – it will appear as $0.00 for the next 24 hours.

  4. Tap Continue and confirm. That’s it! 🎉

*Optional: Kindly upvote this vote to help me :)

If you end up liking the app, it would mean a lot if you could leave a short review on the App Store. It helps a ton with visibility and let me keep improving CalmPets for you and your pets. Have a great Sunday,

AI Analysis:

Just came across a limited-time deal that pet owners might appreciate 🐶🐱

There’s an iOS app called CalmPets – Calming Music for Dogs & Cats that’s currently offering its $39.99 Premium Lifetime unlock for FREE (normally paid). It looks like the offer only lasts about 24 hours, so it’s time‑sensitive.

From what I can tell, the app focuses on calming soundscapes made specifically for pets, useful for things like sleep, separation anxiety, storms, fireworks, or noisy environments. It’s pretty simple—no accounts, no logins, and it runs in the background once you start the audio.

App Store link to check it out:

https://apps.apple.com/app/id6755193261

How the free lifetime unlock reportedly works:

  • Download and open the app
  • On the upgrade screen, tap “Show More”
  • Select the Lifetime option (should show $0.00 during the promo)
  • Confirm once, and it’s unlocked permanently

I’m not affiliated with this app or its creators—just passing along something I saw that might be useful. Please check it out and install at your own risk, as with any app.

If anyone here tries it, I’d love to hear your thoughts:

  • Does it actually help calm your pets?
  • Is the audio quality decent?
  • Worth keeping long-term?

Drop your feedback so others can decide if it’s a good fit 👍

Heyyy guys, i spent the last week working on this video that aims to spread the word about my newest app, Pawfolio. The link is here if you'd like to check it out:

https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/pet-feeding-tracker-pawfolio/id6743056578

This is my first ever video... like literally ever as i'm sure you can tell by the quality of the video 😭 I tried my best 💔 here's the link to the live post

I made it in canva since thats all i know how to use and since i'm generally pretty decent at making static images and poster in canva, so i though making videos would be just as easy... i was very wrong 🥲🙏

Anyways, what do you guys think? I made sure to not use any AI slop in the video either since it would probably harm the app's image instead, but now i'm thinking maybe i should have? idk, thoughts??

Hi everyone,

I use iOS Reminders a lot, but I often wanted a simple way to send one reminder to my partner/friend (not share an entire list).

So I built Fairymind, a reminder-only messenger. You can only send date + time + short text (no images/files/chat). When you send one, the recipient gets a notification immediately and again at the scheduled time.

It’s designed to be low-friction: SMS phone verification + contact sync, then you can start right away (no extra account setup or list sharing).

  • Note: Phone number verification currently supports Korean (+82) and US (+1) numbers only.

I’d love honest feedback: (1) Would you use something like this? Why/why not? (2) Does this feel simpler than existing reminder apps, or unnecessary?

Thanks!

AI Analysis:

Found a free iOS app that tries a different approach to reminders, and thought some of you might find it useful 👀

Fairymind is basically a “send a reminder like a message” app. Instead of sharing full reminder lists, you send one simple reminder (date + time + short text) directly to another person.
The recipient gets a notification right away and again at the scheduled time.

What stood out to me:

  • No chats, no files, no clutter — just reminders
  • Quick setup with phone number verification and contact sync
  • Designed to feel closer to sending a message than managing a task app
  • Currently 100% free, no ads, no in-app purchases

Important note before trying:

  • Phone verification currently supports US (+1) and Korea (+82) numbers only

App Store link (iOS):
https://apps.apple.com/kr/app/fairymind/id6470359232?l=en-GB

As always, I’m not affiliated with this app — just sharing something I came across. Please check it out and use at your own risk.

Curious to hear from you:

  • Would you actually use a reminder-only messenger like this?
  • Does this feel simpler than existing reminder apps, or kind of unnecessary?

Drop your thoughts below 🙂

I built an app called Recipe Mini, which is a fully private, iCloud only, and subscription-free (albeit one-time purchase) recipe manager app.

https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/recipe-mini-manager-planner/id6756092667

I tried to replicate most of what the most successful apps do, except I didn’t put a monthly or yearly paywall on it. The app supports importing from a website, viewing instructions in full screen mode, and a nice minimal UI. It also supports grocery lists and meal planning.

It’s free for 3 recipes, but is only a one-time $5 purchase to unlock all features forever. No subs!

I’m working on my next version now so I’d love to hear feedback on any features I can add.

Question

I’m an indie developer working on PhotInfo, an iOS/iPadOS/macOS app for viewing and editing photo metadata (EXIF/IPTC). I’ve just updated the press kit with new visuals, clearer descriptions, and a more complete overview of the app’s evolution.

Press kit: https://photinfo.github.io/presskit/

I’d love to get your thoughts on:

  • How to make the press kit more appealing or useful
  • Where I could share it to get more visibility
  • Any journalists, bloggers, or communities that might be interested
  • Tips on improving how the app is presented

Happy to hear any suggestions — thanks in advance!

just hit my third trial conversion 🥹

it’s still “only” almost 4€, but honestly… this feeling doesn’t get old. every single conversion makes this whole thing feel a bit more real.

solo dev, early days, lots of doubt along the way. you build, tweak the app, rewrite copy, adjust onboarding, stare at analytics and hope someone out there actually finds value in what you’re making.

knowing that now three people finished the trial and decided the app is worth paying for is insanely motivating.

no big marketing, no ads, no hype. just trying to build something that genuinely helps people change a habit and stick with it.

if anyone’s curious about the app, the idea behind it, or how i’m approaching this whole journey as a solo dev — happy to answer questions. still learning every day. 🥰

5th Paying Customer!

Whilst working on my app I got my 5th paying subscriber through, I still can't believe it, got my first 4 a couple of days ago

Never been so motivated to make something in my life. Literally spending every waking hour on my app right now!

I knew the idea was solid, but spending 7 months building something and then to finally have your first paying customers is something else, when that first person paid for my app I literally started crying ngl

Hi everyone! I’m an indie dev and I just released Blocku, a project born from my love for games like Blockudoku and Block Blast.

It’s played on a classic 9x9 Sudoku board where you clear 3x3 boxes, rows, or columns to score. I really focused on making the "feel" right—the animations and sound effects are designed to be super satisfying when you hit a big combo.

The "AI" Twist: We’ve all been there—one move away from a high score and the game gives you three terrible shapes. I added an AI Reshuffle button that analyzes your current board and swaps your pieces for the best possible shapes to keep your run alive.

Core Features:

  • 🧠 AI Life Saver: Use the Reshuffle when you're stuck or the Undo button to fix a mistake.
  • 🏆 Global Daily Challenges: Everyone in the world gets the exact same board and shapes. No AI or Undos allowed here—pure skill to see who can rank #1 globally.
  • 📱 Full Support: Optimized for iPad and Mac, plus a dedicated Landscape mode.
  • 📊 Deep Stats: Track everything from gems collected to total blocks crushed.

I’m still working on new features and would love to hear what the community thinks!

Question

I recently got an Iphone and foolishly thought i could merge my photos in 3x3 grid to post them on social media , but seems like this is an impossible thing to do in 2025.

There is like 20 apps for collages and all of them has million cheesy border and ton of awful features nobody wants to use for seriously 20 dollars a month but none of them actually can produce a 1080 x1440 3x3 grid image on a nearly 1000 dollar device

This is a complete failure

What began as a simple wrapper around classic grep-style searching has grown into a full-featured engine for developers, power users, and anyone who works with large amounts of plaintext.

📂 Flexible File Handling including text, logs, source code, and even binary files
Instant Results & Navigation with match coloring and quick jumps to matches

Edit: Rules were slightly modified to indicate that Mac developers selling from their own websites/other stores are broadly exempted from complying with AppStore rules which has always been the norm.

Note: iOS developer is understood to be a developer making apps for iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, watchOS, VisionOS, or all of them hereafter.

  • No iOS developer or Mac developer preferring to offer a deal to an AppStore app -without exception- is allowed to offer anything on r/Apphookup that is not sold normally via the AppStore. Why? To ensure that subscription-only apps, which do not sell lifetime licenses, cannot take advantage of r/Apphookup readers to inflate their AppStore rankings and also to ensure compliance with Rule 3.1.1 of Apple’s App Review Guidelines: “In-App Purchase: If you want to unlock features or functionality within your app, (by way of example: subscriptions, in-game currencies, game levels, access to premium content, or unlocking a full version), you must use in-app purchase. Apps may not use their own mechanisms to unlock content or functionality, such as license keys, augmented reality markers, QR codes, cryptocurrencies and cryptocurrency wallets, etc.”

  • If an iOS developer (or Mac developer preferring to offer a deal to an AppStore app) wishes to offer a license to their app via registration of an in-app account (thereby bypassing AppStore IAPs) then it is compulsory to provide proof of acceptance of such an upgrade pathway by AppStore review team to the moderators beforehand via moderator mail and disclose such account requirement in the post. Provided that the in-app account is being created on your own servers (over which you have direct control of modification), the proof of purchase is available to you and not outsourced to a third-party receipt validator like RevenueCat or Adapty.io. To simplify, the app developer must have the means to directly restore the entitlement if it is somehow lost from their servers.

  • If your iOS or Mac app on the AppStore falls under the ambit of reader apps and has been accepted on the AppStore as such then naturally you are allowed to offer deals outside the AppStore.

  • r/Apphookup does not recognise in-app entitlements made through RevenueCat or Adapty.io or similar solutions because app developers do not have direct control over the working of these services and cannot be trusted to restore such entitlements when lost without the means to do so (based on previous instances observed in r/Apphookup). To simplify, use AppStore IAPs and don’t try to trick us.

  • Mac developers preferring to offer a deal through their own websites or third-party stores other than the Apple AppStore are welcome to do so according to the existing rules of r/Apphookup. Our intention is not to interfere with the thriving market outside of the AppStore on Mac devices.

  • Deals offered through AppStore promo codes are allowed as usual according to existing rules. Deals offered through internal app specific codes are not allowed unless the code is implemented only to unlock an AppStore based offer inside your app (that is the in-app entitlement to premium features should be granted through the AppStore). This should enable developers to run small scale promotions on the subreddit.

Note: These rules don’t discourage your selling of multi-platform packages where codes for iOS apps (or Mac apps on the AppStore) are a part of the deal provided that:

  1. The access to the aforementioned apps should be through the AppStore promo code mechanism, or
  2. A proper receipt/proof of purchase should be provided with the sale with clear mention of the platform specific entitlements received along with time period of entitlement and the access to iOS apps should be linked to an account which is retrievable, or
  3. The iOS apps are only companion apps to the full-featured Mac/Windows/Linux apps (in which case account-based entitlements outside the AppStore are allowed).

Feel like we missed something? Do let us know in the comments.

• Meta •

In response to an abrupt increase in rule-breaking posts appearing on this subreddit in 2025, we are going to implement some new systems to ensure that the r/AppHookup community remains safe from rug pulls and outright scams alike, as well as enforce a higher standard for the apps allowed in here.

What the big change?

Every new deal/offer post in r/AppHookup is (soon) going to be pre-approved by the moderators before it appears in the subreddit. A human moderator will download and check every app before it is posted here, as discussed below.

While we cannot promise that every app that is approved will be of exceptional quality but what we will certainly ensure is that the basic premise of this subreddit, that is discovering deals and discounts on downloadable apps is fulfilled by keeping out the rule breakers. Still there is a criteria by which we are going to judge what apps are allowed here.

What will be the criteria for approval?

It’s mostly going to be about enforcement of our existing rules with two major changes:

  1. The Launch deal rule (where we didn’t allow any app which was released less than 2 months ago) is going to be deprioritised. The main purpose of this rule was to keep out buggy and unfinished apps, which will be addressed by the new rule below.

  2. Apps posted in r/AppHookup must be of a high quality, which consists of, but is not limited to:

  • responsive and polished user interface
  • should be easy to understand and use, or should offer clear guidance on how to use it
  • should support the latest technologies of the platform which it belongs to (as much as possible)
  • app onboarding (the first few screens of questions and feature details before an app starts) should be relevant and not drawn out unnecessarily
  • vibe-coded apps or apps made without much care to the end result will be judged on merits and are subject to rejection if found unpolished/buggy
  • no mandatory collection of user details
  • no unnecessary login requirements or registrations (an exception may be made if the app is able to provide some value for it, like cross-platform syncing or multi-device licenses)
  • no exorbitant price tags (and any app which has a weekly subscription, whether discounted or not, will be automatically rejected)
  • an app’s developer shouldn’t have a history of acting against consumer interest (such as by revoking existing entitlements to force subscriptions or selling off an app after gaining users from free promotions)

When are these changes going to happen?

We are currently testing the AutoModerator setup to make this happen. These changes will likely be enforced within this month and a new announcement post will be made at that time.

Then why are you announcing this now?

Because community feedback about upcoming changes is always important. If you have anything to say about this new system of posting in r/AppHookup (whether positive or negative) then you may comment below.

Note: There will be no change in your ability to comment on posts in r/AppHookup. The changes are only being made to top-level posts/threads. We have always encouraged civil discussion here.

Paid App - Show and Review
Got my first monthly paying customer for my fitness app 🥳

Today I got a notification on my phone, someone actually paid for FitSaver.

No big launch.

No ads.

No influencer posts.

Just shipped the app and shared it quietly in a few Reddit threads while I kept working on improvements.

FitSaver is an app I built to solve a personal problem:

I kept saving workout reels, exercise videos, gym notes, screenshots and never actually following them. So I built something that turns messy fitness content into clean, followable routines.

Seeing someone hit subscribe especially this early — felt way bigger than the dollar amount. It was just validation that:

the problem is real

the solution resonates with at least one person

the time spent building wasn’t wasted

Free App - Show and Review

I recently released my first app. It's a simple, native game-library manager. I don’t want to compete with large, feature‑heavy apps. My goal is simplicity, speed of use, performance and good design.

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/game-menu/id6740416148

There are so many slow, unintuitive, buggy, and ugly apps nowadays. I think software used to be of better quality than it is now.

This app is fully made by human :)
No vibe coding and no unverified auto‑generated code.

Feel free to share your thoughts - maybe some feature is missing for you.
Thanks!

App for tracking shared expenses or IOUs(App made to counter Splitwise)

If there is one thing I hate in this world it's corporate greed. Yes they work hard to create services like Splitwise It takes hard work to make such a service and I'm not denying that but that doesn't give them the right to treat us like cogs in a machine. They see that we don't have power over them and actively take advantage of this by making us their b#!ch and I am not having it. My goal in life is to systematically dismantle such corrupt corporate structures by giving people freedom to choose something that does not make them their b#!ch.

I am starting with this app called Splitwise. They have power as a service provider and it's truly disgusting how they abuse that. Splitwise abuses their power by; collecting analytics without user permission to sell to "trusted" third parties, forces collection of phone number and email address through mandatory account creation, forces users to watch ads, locks down basic features such as creating entries behind a paywall by limiting how many entries a user can do per day... the list goes on.

The alternative I made Tabsy differs from Splitwise because it does not force collection of analytics, it does not force collection of email address or phone number through account creation, it does not put base app functionality such as adding entries behind a paywall and most importantly it does not make you my b#!ch**.** I respect you as a user and acknowledge that you are a human being just like me.

The app is monetized through the cloud backup and cloud sync functionality that is not needed to use the app. It's for those who want to support my mission or want peace of mind. That is why I made the subscription so cheap only $1 per month or $10 per year, very close to what it costs me to provide consistent and reliable cloud backups.

The revenue received from this app will be just a stepping stone in accomplishing my mission of freeing people from the shackles of these corporate greed.

Link to the app
https://trafficy.net/
Tabsy will be out on android very soon, we just passed the closed beta testing and should be posted the the play store within the next few weeks.

For the moderators. I have posted this software before in this subreddit but that was last month so my post should be in compliance with the rules. I did not find any rule against using profanity other than the Be respectful rule, I took precautions by censoring the words with symbols so my post should be complaint with all rules please reach out if you do not like the content I post or don't want me to post on this subreddit.

I built a clean, insight-focused steps app

Hi everyone!
I’m an indie developer and recently launched Steply, a step counter app focused on clarity, insights, and habit-building, rather than just showing raw numbers.

A few things Steply focuses on:
* Automatic step tracking using Apple Health
* Clear daily, weekly, monthly & yearly trends and time-of-day patterns
* Clean visuals and widgets
* Workout route playback with heart rate zones
* Privacy-first, no ads

I built it because I wanted something simple but still insightful, especially for walking consistency rather than hardcore fitness.

Happy to hear your feedback, thanks!

Pricing / IAP:
• Monthly Premium: $3.99
• Yearly Premium: $19.99
• Lifetime Premium: $39.9

Question

I am currently building an iOS application (a keyboard extension similar to Wispr Flow) that will help you do voice based typing across 100+ apps commonly used i.e. Whatsapp, Gmail, and many more including native apps like Notes, iMessages, etc.

Key Features:

  1. 100% on-device transcription
  2. Keyboard QWERTY keys are retained to help in addition to the voice based typing
  3. Supports 1000+ languages (auto-detected)
  4. Helps you with an Universal Clipboard on iOS in addition to the voice typing experience (in the same canvas) so you can copy bulk across many apps and then paste them wherever you need.
  5. There are noise cancellation filters and voice activity detection models running locally to ensure you have better accuracy in your output (enabling voice isolation mode in a noisy environment produces much better results in general as the model is running locally)

What does this address?

  1. Unnecessary Cloud based processing of your voice - you don't want your data leaving the device for privacy concerns
  2. A clipboard in addition to the keyboard in the same area personally helps me a lot to juggle around the things I copied and ensure I don't need to swipe back and forth the apps to paste them immediately
  3. A rich set of language support (likely unavailable offline with other competitors ranging from English, Arabic, French, Spanish and all indic languages including Tamil, Hindi and many more)

What I need from you?

I am currently working on finalising the product to publish on the App Store. I am surveying if anyone would be interested in this? If yes, I am planning to publish this with rich free tier of 4000 words per week (unlike 2000 you get elsewhere) and price the app at 5$ per month (this is for the efforts put in the development and research - similar to buy me a coffee).

I am happy to take your feedback before launching the application. Thank you in advance in taking time to read this and respond.

Dev - Self Promotion

Hey r/iosapps - I’m a solo dev in Sydney.

I built Cue, an all-in-one productivity app for tasks, notes, reminders, calendar, habits, and goals. The part that’s different is planning: you can type or speak something like
“gym at 11, groceries after, meal prep, laundry tonight” and Cue turns it into a scheduled day. Then you can view it in a normal list or the radial “dial” view (24 hours on one screen).

It also supports sharing (shared grocery lists / tasks with friends or family) and the assistant can remember your preferences over time so you don’t have to repeat yourself.

Pricing (free + IAP): Free tier + optional subscription $9.99/month or $79.99/year (USD).

Would genuinely love blunt feedback on one thing: does the dial view actually help you understand your day faster? If you could add one piece of info to it, what would it be?

[iOS] [1.99$ -> Free Lifetime] Riddlemoji: Emoji Quiz Puzzle

Happy new year everyone!

As a solo developer, I’ve recently launched my very first game: Riddlemoji – a puzzle app full of original, handcrafted emoji riddles.

I know there are a lot of emoji games out there, but I wanted to make something more clever and rewarding than the typical "sun + glasses = sunglasses" or "hot + dog = hotdog" kind of stuff. Each level is built to make you think and feel smart when you crack the clue.

Key features:

🧩 Original emoji riddles

🎯 Increasing difficulty across 16 levels (3 free, 13 premium, more coming soon)

⏱️ Timed daily challenges - the faster you solve them, more stars you get!

🏅 Leaderboards - fight for place on the weekly or monthly podium.

💡 Hints, coin rewards, and unlockables

🧘 Clean, minimal UI with no ads

I’d really love your feedback on gameplay — do the riddles feel satisfying? Are they too easy, too hard, or just right? Anything that confused or frustrated you?

Also open to thoughts on the progression system and overall feel of the app.

Usual price: Free to download, $1.99 to unlock Premium levels, however…

As a thank you, I’m doing a small new year giveaway:

Just comment here and I'll send you the instructions on how to unlock the premium content for free! 😊

Here’s the App Store link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/riddlemoji-emoji-quiz-game/id6741170575

Thanks so much - looking forward to hearing your thoughts and making it better!
